Andrew Wright

I joined the Marine Corps while in high school and served four years with Weapons Company, 1st Battalion 7th Marine Regiment.  I deployed to Kuwait in February of 2003 and participated in the invasion and subsequent occupation of Iraq.  After leaving the Corps in 2004 I traveled and worked for a year and then returned to the state of Washington to attend college.  In the late summer of 2008 I joined the non-profit GI Voice and helped to open the GI Coffeehouse COFFEE STRONG outside the gates of Ft. Lewis (now Joint Base Lewis-McChord).  I became the Director of Operations in May of 2009 and served as the interim Executive Director for the start of 2011.  I am now the IVAW Field Organizer for Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, and Idaho.
