Michael Findell

I wanted to join the Iraq Veterans Against the War because Im tired of the military community, and the veterans community being lied to by our government. I am tired of the veterans not having someplace to turn to and to reach out to. the VA is grossly understaffed and undersupported by our government and that needs to change. When Europeans first came to North America they fought and fought against the natives because they didnt believe in the same way of living as the Europeans did. Now we go to other countries and fight the natives there and we still wonder why the natives keep fighting back. I was injured during combat operations outside of Mosul Iraq on Feb 19, 2004 and have still have not recovered. I currently face severe PTSD which I am finally seeking help with from the local VA here in Denver. I miss the time I spent with the guys in my unit as they returned helping them and their wives or families cope with the new them. Life changes so fast when you go overseas that when you return you dont realize that not only have the people who were left behind changed but so were you. I hope to be able to help again and joining IVAW is my way.
