July 26 Tuesday - Outreach at Ft. Carson

The Back Story

Earlier this year IVAW deployed a team to gritty sun-baked Ft. Hood to begin a year long outreach drive and lay the groundwork for a fight to win service members and veterans right to heal. Sense the teams arrival in May they have talked to hundreds of active duty soldiers, conducted house visit after house visit, and begun to collect the testimony of Service Members that deal with these issues daily.

Why did IVAW deploy a team to the belly of the beast? Because, we know that by winning the right to heal at Ft. Hood we can win our rights across the country and in doing so cripple the militaries ability to continue the occupations of Afghanistan and Iraq. The military depends on the deployment of service members with traumas to continue the wars.
