Jesse Stout

Afghanistan is the nation breaker. Every drop of blood and every penny spent on trying to win a war there is wasted. We have no clearly defined goals of what victory is and as a country we do not have the guts to do what would need to be done to win the war. Our enemy is not a nation, our enemy is not a fixed target. Our enemy is an abstract idea, our enemy is nation less. Continuing to wage a war against Afghanistan (and Pakistan) only serves to create a new and upcoming generation of people who hate us and will offer their lives to return the pain and loss we have inflicted to them. This is an unacceptable situation. This is an unacceptable outcome for the exchange of the blood of our soldiers. This is the driving reason why i left military service after 7 years. When I could no longer support our mission in good faith I could no longer serve, when I could not give my fellow service members the dedication to my job because I did not believe in our mission I had to leave because letting them down would have been morally reprehensible.
