James Sander
Son a Marine tanker from the Korean War. James enlisted in the Army Reserve in 1999 to a petroleum construction engineering unit in Fargo, ND, which was mobilized to Ft McCoy, WI during the invasion of Iraq in 2003 during this time James' unit help rebuild the aged base to become one of America's power projection platforms. James was transferred to the the finance corps due to a back injury. He deployed with the 395th FI BN in 2006-2007 providing financial support to OIF operations in southern Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Djibouti. James assisted a local North Dakota State Senate campaign as finance manager and has worked with Votevets.org, and the Truman Project and Veterans Voice Foundation. James graduated from Minnesota State University- Moorhead with a Bachlors of the Arts in American Studies and Sociology and attend University of Missouri as a doctoral candidate studying Military Sociology. James lives in Denver and works with at the Department of the Interior in administration, finance, and logistics. James is passionate about protecting America's natural beauty, conversation, fostering an inclusive & egalitarian society, and veteran healing.
