Iraq Veterans Against the War will once again challenge the militarization of popular culture, especially sports, with our Demilitarized Super Bowl Party.
As a bonus this year we will screen Not Just a Game as a warm up to the action.
Not Just a Game the new film featuring sports writer David Zirin, is also challenging popular notions of politics and sports. Zirin challenges the "politics free zone" many say must exist through this film and his weekly column at Edgeofsports.com. The film examines the continued militarization of the NFL while claiming to be free of politics and whitewashing sports heroes of earlier eras including Pat Tilmann and Mohammed Ali.
