Cien Fuegos Carmona

I joined the Marines in 2005. There was nothing to do in my hometown and I wanted to travel. Soon after stepping on the yellow footprints I realized that I was trapped for the next four years in a world of bigotry, violence, and hate. It wasn't long after I arrived on base that it was discovered that I was queer. I was hazed and bullied to the point in 2008 I attempted suicide. It was shortly after a stay at Balboa Naval Medical Center Psych ward that I received a copy of "Sir, No Sir" in the mail. I watched and knew that I had to do my part in stopping the war.
