Cheryl Kopec

I served in Iraq, OIF-1, 2003-2004, at the end of what had been a long and theretofore satisfying career on both active duty and as a Reservist, ultimately becoming a French linguist/interrogator. I deployed enthusiastically, believing both in the necessity of the war and in my government's commitment to ensuring we had what we needed to win. Those beliefs were quickly shattered, and I am now 70% disabled with PTSD, and a strident opponent of both of our costly and tragic Middle East wars, especially since our own citizens, infrastructure, and economy are suffering.
