Update from the Secretary

Board

Hello all,

I have received a few emails from members wondering where those Board minutes are located at.  I sincerely apologise for getting this out behind schedule (and I still have one more I need to upload), but I wanted to make sure everyone had an opportunity to see the Minutes as soon as I uploaded them.

  • Minutes 28 Aug 2010 - Portland, ME Board Meeting Minutes Day 1
  • Minutes 28 Aug 2010 - Conference Call
  • Minutes 29 Aug 2010 - Portland, ME Board Meeting Minutes Day 2 Minutes 7 Sep 2010 - Conference Call

Make sure you read through those minutes and pay attention to what is going on in your Board.  You elected us  and, theoretically, expect us to do a good job, so hold us accountable.

Also, if any chapters would like to adopt my meeting minutes format for their own use, feel free.  I will post a template for that soon.  I think it would be great if we all used a similar template for minutes so that the information was incredibly accessible and easy to read while still containing quality information.

If there are any questions on the minutes, please comment on this blog posting instead of emailing me personally so that everyone can see the questions and read the answers.  Of course, if you have a question you would prefer to email, feel free.

Thanks for caring, everyone, and stay strong.  And I promise I won't always blog about meeting minutes and policy documents. :)

What's wrong with a flip-floppity dovish senator that knows some foreign policy?

That Commie Pinko, Hanoi John, Worthless Expletive, Jane Fonda wannabe, five-term Senator foreign policy buff John Kerry, as Secretary of State? Where’s that petition to renounce my citizenship? Wait. Wait, wait, and wait...

Executive Director Job Posting/Position Description

Letter from the Secretary

Dear Members, With every convention, we mark a sort of “new year” for IVAW. We have virtually a brand new board, a new executive committee, and a new Board Chair. The 2012-2013 Board of Directors is as follows: Geoff...

Premeditated

For an act to be premeditated it has to be planned. In the United States we hear about premeditated murder and in some states this has been defined as mere seconds before the criminal act. Our reasoning for going to war with...

The War in Iraq is Not Over

Recently the media has been filled with announcements that the war in Iraq has finally ended.  But in a war fought not only by enlisted foot soldiers, but also largely by corporations, mercenaries, and drones, what...
