Convention 2011 was a big success! Over 100 members and allies were in attendance.  We will share more about the trainings, workshops, plenaries, and post photos and video in the coming days.

In the meantime, the results of the Board of Directors elections and Resolutions are in:

Voter participation

52 online + 26 paper = 78 voters total

The new IVAW Board of Directors will consist of eight members including Garett Reppenhagen, Joyce Wagner, Wendy Barranco, Jenn Blain, Jorge Gonzalez, Bryan Reinholdt, Brock McIntosh, and Scott Kimball.

Jeff Key resigned from the second year of his term. Sara Beining and Robynn Murray were voted off the board due to lack of participation. Scott Kimball was asked to join the board as a replacement and will serve a one year term.

Resolutions

(Requires a 50% + 1 majority of "in favor" and "against" votes cast; "abstain" votes DO NOT count towards the total)

2) Israel - 21 in favor; 34 against; 18 abstain (Failed)

The new resolution on Palestine as well as others adopted in the past will be added this week to a new sublink called "Resolutions" under the "About" tab of the main navigation on the homepage.

Bylaws

Voting for bylaw amendments only is still open until Saturday, August 20th at 6:15pm (correction: we listed July 20th in a previous version). In accordance with our bylaws, we will keep the polls open for 30 days after the email blast went out announcing the beginning of voting. To review the bylaw amendment proposals and cast your vote, log in to your member profile and click the "Voting" tab in the upper left-hand corner.

Please note: The organizational name change vote was tabled at the convention by a majority of the membership present. No date was set for when or if this question would be taken up in the future. If you have questions, comments, or concerns about this decision please direct them to board@ivaw.org.
