Kelly Dougherty, Executive Director
Kelly is a founding member of IVAW and former Board Chair. She joined the staff in December 2006. Kelly served in Iraq with the Colorado Army National Guard. As Executive Director, she oversees all organizational operations, including finances, strategy, staffing, and ally relations.
Amadee Braxton, Director of Development
Amadee is a civilian who brings over 18 years of experience in organizational development, non-profit management, and social change organizing to IVAW and has been working with us since October 2004. Amadee's main responsibility is fundraising, including grant writing, major donor solicitation, and direct mailings. Toby Hartbarger, Administrative Assistant
Toby is an Army veteran who served in Iraq and he is a member of IVAW. He joined the staff in May 2007. Toby checks the national email and phone messages; manages the member and donor databases, and approves website content. Francesca Lo Basso, Media Coordinator
Francesca is a civilian who has worked both as an editor for newspaper and magazine, as well as a newspaper reporter. She has also worked with IVAW members to organize anti-war events in Philadelphia. The media coordinator is responsible for coordinating and disseminating media requests and press coverage opportunities throughout the organization. Clarissa Rogers, Office Manager
Clarissa is a civilian who brings several years of office management experience to IVAW, as well as a history of doing social justice and anti-oppression work. Nick Jehlen (The Action Mill), Strategy and Web Consultant
Nick is a civilian who has created direct actions and campaigns since 1990, and currently works as the Art Director at The Progressive magazine. Nick and Jethro Heiko comprise The Action Mill, a consulting project that helps build progressive, grassroots groups and campaigns. Nick created and maintains the IVAW website, designs literature and merchandise for IVAW, and consults on organizational and strategy development issues. Jethro Heiko (The Action Mill), Director of Organizing
Jethro is a civilian who brings 14 years of experience in community organizing and strategy development to IVAW. Jethro supports organizational leaders in developing strategy, helps build national alliances and guides the growth of the IVAW organizing program. Lovella Calica, Field Director / Warrior Writers Project Director
Lovella is a civilian who brings over 10 years of organizing experience to IVAW. She has been working with IVAW since September of 2005. As Field Director she coordinates national events and actions, as well as supports chapter and regional development. She also oversees IVAW's Warrior Writers creative writing program. Jason Washburn, Field Organizer
Jason is a Marine veteran from San Diego who served three tours in Iraq. He helped start the San Diego chapter of IVAW before moving to Philly and just finished co-producing a short promo video for Winter Soldier. TJ Buonomo, Field Organizer
TJ is a graduate of the Air Force Academy, but was commissioned into the Army as a Military Intelligence Officer. TJ helped start the Rochester chapter of IVAW and has recently relocated to Philadelphia. TJ will be working closely with Lovella to support chapter and regional development. Sholom Keller, Membership Coordinator / Editor of Newsletter
Sholom is an Army veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and he is a member of IVAW. Sholom joined the staff in July 2007 and handles new member welcome and orientation, along with editing, publishing, and distributing Sit-Rep - a publication written by and for veterans of the Global War on Terror.
