Seattle Operation Recovery House Party
The Iraq War has officially ended, but our work continues in 2012!
Help us stop the deployment of traumatized troops and bring an end to the war in Afghanistan.
Thousands of troops who've come home from Iraq are now being sent to Afghanistan – many of them severely traumatized by their experiences. The generals are desperate for bodies to maintain our forces in Afghanistan, and will do whatever it takes, including sending injured troops back into battle. About 3,000 soldiers with the 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division recently shipped out to Afghanistan from Joint Base Lewis-McChord after serving two tours in Iraq, and many are suffering from un-treated trauma. In fact, the problems are so bad Joint Base Lewis-McChord has developed a reputation as a ‘base on the brink’ and the ‘most troubled base in the military’ due to record-high suicides, and numerous other mental health issues. We’re working hard to bring Operation Recovery to Joint Base Lewis-McChord, and we need your help!
