Back in April of 2006 a large demonstration was organized in New York City. A lot of organizations were there, IVAW, GSFSO, MFSO, to name a few. So we walked in Manhattan. There were people in the streets cheering us on, people were energized, excited and in solidarity. By the next morning it was back to business as usual. They had swept the streets clean for those who only had to ignore it for a day. What will happen when the people stay there for a week? a month? How will they go back to business then?
