November 7th

Hope is in the air, through all of the massive waste of political money and slander people are ready to vote their voice. But is that enough? Can we change in the course of day and then sigh a collective resounding relief? Come Tuesday when the ballots are in, a step in the right direction may have been made. But it is only another step. Ultimately they, the public servants, must be made to listen to their constituency.

We can sieze the opportunity to bond with those so energized and influence the discourse and debate that continues in government. No to redeployments and complicated plans of timetables and enduring bases. No to continued petty tiffs about who supports the troops; if they are truly ready to take on the welfare of this country, of the people, of the soldiers then it is the message of peace and inclusion that they must spread. Ultimately they are beholden to us, the citizens, it is our voice that matters. We can inundate them with the message that is true through all of us at home, abroad, and those who have suffered. You up on that hill, listen to the people, we will make you listen to your people. So many have sacrificed for so long, No More!

I believe that we are a people that stand for real democracy, that we wish to promote a humane civilization rid of shame, racism, imperialism and oppression. So I too am hopeful, with the mass of hopeful, persevering peacemakers I stand amongst, let us then take this step together.
