Joe HatcherBranch of service: United States Army (USA)
Unit: C Troop, 1st Squadron, 4th United States Cavalry
Rank: Specialist
Home: Olympia, Washington
Served in: Schweinfurt, Germany & Ad Dawr, Iraq
Enlisted on September 10th of 2001. Trained in reconnaissance at Ft. Knox, Kentucky. Based out of Schweinfurt, Germany with the First Squadron, Fourth United States Cavalry. Stop lossed eight months to deploy thirteen months in the Sunni Triangle as driver for my XO, gunner for my First Sergeant, and radio operator in our Tactical Operations Center. For the first 8 months, I burned human waste in tubs of diesel fuel. For the last month I cleaned Depleted Uranium dust off vehicles in Kuwait. As "Joe Public" I helped run the anti-war blog at www.ftssoldier.blogspot.com. It was our release while we were out there, our little way of saying FTA! Honarably discharged at the end of May 2005, I'm currently on the Board of Directors and working to build our Olympia chapter. Bonus! If you Google Earth the city of Ad Dawr, Iraq, my base is in the south. You can't miss it. It's the area that looks like the moon from all the craters... |
