I joined the Wisconsin Army National Guard in 1999. At the time there was no impending fear of war and I thought joining the military was my only chance to afford college. I was deployed to Iraq in 2003, a month before the invasion. I objected to the war before deploying but felt the need to fulfill the obligations I had made. Once there, I saw first hand how the powers of our country are not considering the welfare of the Iraqi people or the good of the United States. I saw how the soldiers and the people of Iraq are losing from this war, and that the only one that benefits are the large corporations like Haliburton and the oil industry. I realized the reason for this war was greed, thats when I became a peace activist. After I graduated college and my military commitments were over I moved to Washington State with my wife and daughter. I have a photography website that everyone should see. www.ashkyrie.com and a peaceblog at http://thepeacewalk.com I am opposed to war and committed to stand my part against it...Solidarity Posts by Ash Woolson
